Victoria too strong for SA

Thu Oct 16 2008

Victoria consolidated their standing in the Championships with a good win over a lacklustre SA team winning 11 - 5 last night. SA conceded 11.5 mins of penalty time v the Vic teams 4 mins. Rob Stark made his first appearance in the Championships and scored 2 goals.

SA had their chances but poor shooting on goal and penalties cost them the game and possibly the chance for a spot in the final. Some great goal saves from Steve Mackey also helped Vic overcome SA. SA now must beat WA by 3 or more goals to get into the final, unless WA can upset the Vics and win tonight.

Goals:
Vic: D Stiglich 3, N Stiglich 2, McInerney 2, Stark 2, Lauder 1, Pepperell 1.
SA: Steele, Marshall, Gilbert, Picket and Carter 1 each.
